Anglo-Saxon Day at Wildwood, Escot - Spring 2019

Pine Class had an amazing Anglo-Saxon Day at Wildwood, Escot!  They ground corn to make flour for their bread which was baked in a cob oven, forged metal to make brooches, lathed and carved wood to make a skittle, ball and class sign in runes, pressed their very own Anglo-Saxon coins and had a great time exploring the Anglo-Saxon Village in costume.
Pine Class also got to meet a range of animals that the Anglo-Saxons might have lived alongside too, including: wolves, wild cats, wild boar and a range of beautiful owls, eagles and falcons.
Lots of interesting questions were asked and answered throughout the day, and the children were a credit to the school and their adults :-)
